Here are some other resources that we have found helpful in the past and hope you might benefit from as well:
- The Canadian Evaluation Society (CES): They offer training in evaluation, including a two-day intensive on evaluation. If you are looking for a professional evaluator to help you on a project you can also post a Request for Proposals or job posting on their site. Each province also has its own CES chapter where you can find local evaluation consultant listings and local online and in-person training in evaluation.
- The American Evaluation Association: Similar to the Canadian organization but located in the United States. The Evaluator’s Institute: They are also based in the U.S. and have a range of in-person and online in-depth trainings in evaluation topics from statistics to culturally appropriate evaluation.

-
First Nations Information Governance Center: If you are gathering information at a community level in First Nations or engaging with Indigenous partners on Indigenous-led projects, this is a key organization to connect with as they promote and educate about the First Nations principles of OCAP®: Ownership, Control, Access and Possession. Also, check out this blog post on OCAP® prepared by Good Roots for a summary of what it is and how it relates to evaluation.
- The Common Approach: This is an initiative aimed at strengthening impact measurement for social purpose organizations. They have a large indicator data bank drawn from organizations across Canada and beyond, an organizational assessment tool to understand your organization’s needs and capacity related to impact measurement and other opportunities to build your impact measurement capacity.
- Better Evaluation: A web page with tons of information and resources related to evaluation approaches, methods and topics.
